Road Nationals Perth 2026 was another standout moment for Australian cycling. For Steadyrack, it marked our second year supporting one of the country’s premier events, and our second year as official naming rights partner of the Steadyrack Gran Fondo.

A Big Event, A Bigger Result

The Steadyrack Gran Fondo delivered an incredible day of racing, atmosphere, and community spirit, with riders taking on the iconic Perth roads in true Nationals style.

Steadyrack didn’t just support the event, we raced it too.

Our Steadyrack team delivered an outstanding performance, securing three podium finishes, including an exceptional 1st place by Guy Kalma in the 19-34 category. Even more impressively, Guy recorded the fastest time overall, regardless of age category, a massive achievement on a highly competitive day.

What was the moment during the ride when you realised the win was actually possible? 

"It was an easy race to read because there were only two or three riders I thought could genuinely pose a threat, and the guy I went up the road with was the main one. About a lap and a half to go I was still feeling good, so I started playing a few psychological games with him, letting a small gap open, breathing a bit heavier—so that in his inexperience he’d think he could just ride me off the wheel. Deep down, like most bike racers, I knew it was my race to lose and his to win, and that was the point I realised the result was firmly in my hands if I didn’t make any dumb decisions."

Being involved in Road Nationals for a second consecutive year reflects what Steadyrack is all about: backing the sport, the riders, and the moments that make cycling special.

From the Gran Fondo start line to the podium, Perth 2026 was a reminder of why we’re proud to be part of this community, and why we’ll continue supporting events that bring cyclists together.
